“In this course I’ll explain to you my artistic approach when doing a self-portrait exercise made with neutral colors. We’ll focus on the main concepts that relate to my personal approach which is centered in sculpting the paint and values, and the exploration of a good process, setting up, materials and more. I’ll start by showing you how I pre-mix my colors, followed by how I build the structure of my self-portrait, and how to tackle the first layer of paint. I’ll share with you my deepest thoughts on how I perceive and understand painting. Once we get to the last part of our portrait, I’ll show you how we can apply the final brush strokes based on shapes and contrast. This course is designed for whoever wants to understand and get to know Alba’s approach in painting. She’ll be sharing with you the concepts she takes into consideration when painting a self-portrait.
