In this course I’ll show you the basics of oil painting to be able to paint an oil painting of a human figure pose. During the course, we will discuss practical and logistical aspects like illumination, materials and how to set up your studio. We will progress towards understanding light and values with the exercise of painting a sphere. In the second exercise, we will use what we have learned in the initial exercise and we will apply it to represent a photographic image of a female nude, from the initial drawing to the final work, in order to understand the fundamentals of the representation of light and volume. This course is designed for whoever wants to start painting. Adrià will share with you the fundamental concepts you should take into account when you start to paint, how to use your tools, and the best approach to get the accuracy of the object.
